The Journey at Home
Marion welcomes the live audience and the at home T.V audience for the long awaited biggest loser asia season two finale. She reminds everyone that after spending a few months at home, the finalists Genghis, Nai and Raj are going to be here with us on stage for one final weigh in, take home the title, and find out who has come to to be crowned asia’s next biggest loser.
After a recap of the contestants long journey back to health at the mansion, Marion introduces the “at home” contestants who were taking part in a competition called the “lose big” fitness first competition. Rico, Desiree and Sheila are introduced as the finalists who have cut the fat and beaten their competition from Fitness First ‘Lose Big’ programs from all across Asia. Rico and Desiree were eliminated from the competition in the very first week, and we are shown a recap of Rico’s time in the lose big program. Sheila, a young single mother from Malaysia, is introduced as the next finalist. Sheila is open about her struggles as a single mother and sufferer of the auto immune disease, lupus.
Marion invites each of them to weigh in to find out which of the three will walk away ten thousand us dollars richer. Marion invites Rico to come up first. Rico’s total weight loss comes up on the screen and the thirty eight kilos puts a big smile on Rico’s face. 23.03% is the new number to beat. Desiree is up next and her total weight loss of 30 kilos puts her percentage at 24.59% percent, and Rico is no longer in the running for the “at home” prize. Sheila is up last, and as her percentage of 23.28% comes up on the screen, Desiree is speechless. Desiree is the winner of the lose big “at home” contestant and takes home a cheque worth ten thousand U.S dollars. Marion talks to her about her journey and Desiree thanks the fitness first trainers that helped her get in shape and win this lose big competition.
The Transformation
Marion then invites the eliminated contestants back on stage one by one. Loud cheers greet each and every contestant as they walk out, and their amazing transformation causes jaws to drop. Marion chats with the contestants, and finds out how their journey has continued outside the Biggest Loser resort. The contestants share their thoughts and experiences with the audience being in the competition and talk about life on their own, without the support of their trainers.
Marion then invites the two Biggest Loser trainers on stage to meet the eliminated contestants. Kristy and Dave come on stage and greet each of the eliminated contestants. Marion asks them to share their thoughts on the transformations of the contestants seated before them. Kristy and Dave both express their pride at how fit and well each of them look now.
Marion reminds everyone that season two has been about ‘expecting the unexpected’, and introduces a surprise competition for the eliminated contestants. The contestant who has lost the most weight since the start of the competition and has the highest weight loss percentage, will take away a prize courtesy of the Park Hotel group. The eliminated contestants wait with bated breath as marion announces that Fish has won the reward. Fish is overjoyed that she has achieved the highest weight loss percentage of 36.46% amongst the eliminated contestants since the competition began.
The eliminated contestants join the studio audience and, Marion tells everyone to prepare themselves for the moment we’ve all been waiting for, the crowning of asia’s next biggest loser.
The moment of truth
Genghis is the first to be invited up on stage. As he tears through an image of his former self, loud cheers erupt from the audience. Marion chats with Genghis about his journey at home, and how he dealt with life after the resort. Genghis shares his struggles with his diet, and his determination to win the title for his country.
Raj bursts through the image of his former self, and his family and friends go crazy with excitement. Marion talks to him about how he motivated himself to get into shape for the finale, and Raj shares how he used the negative comments from the fans to inspire himself through grueling exercise regime at home.
Next, Marion invites Nai to come out and he comes through his image to loud cheers and of support from the crowd. Marion talks to him about what is running through his head at the moment. Nai shares his excitement at being a finalist and explains that the journey has been long and hard.
Marion then tells them all to get changed for the final weigh in. Once back, she invites Kristy and Dave to come out one last time to show their support for the three finalists.
Genghis is the first one up on the scales. The excitement is palpable as he gets on the scales and his numbers start to come up on the scale. Genghis’s starting weight was a hundred and sixty two kilos, and his current weight is a hundred and five kilos. Genghis has lost a massive fifty seven kilos, and his weight loss percentage stands at 35.19 %. The second finalist to weigh in is Raj. He goes up on the scale and his starting weight of a hundred and forty four kilos comes up on the board. The total kilos lost is an impressive sixty seven kilos which brings him to 46.53% weight loss. This immediately puts Genghis out of the race and Raj is visibly overjoyed that he is still in the running. Nai is the last up on the scales. His starting weight in the competition was a hundred and thirty seven kilos and marion informs him that he needs to lose at least sixty four kilos to beat Raj to be crowned asia’s next Biggest Loser.
Nai’s current weight stands at seventy four kilos, and his weight loss is sixty three kilos. This makes raj the biggest loser and Nai unfortunately loses out to his arch blue team enemy.
Marion asks Raj to share how he’s feeling after being crowned asia’s next biggest loser. He is thrilled that all his hard work, dedication and training have helped him to achieve his ultimate goal. He talks about how proud he is for overcoming every single adversity and achieving this ultimate goal. With balloons and confetti popping,, the second season of the biggest loser asia wraps. Marion reminds the audience about auditions for season three and encourages people to come to the auditions.
